In the 1980's Norman, Oklahoma was home to a number of innovative and creative bands that played the area concurrently. Among the best were The Flaming Lips, The Fortune Tellers and Defenestration. Each band had its own look, style and stage shows. One would succeed, one would fail and one would pass almost into legend as a band that on the eve of success self-destructed leaving behind a fragmented shell of a group and a legion of disillusioned fans. Even so, the music they created still remains as popular as ever and is a reminder of what might have been. This site, though not intending to be the final word on Defenestration's history, is rather a celebration of their music and unique legacy.
