solo cover solo back

Todd Walker's only solo effort to date. The title pretty much says it all, indicating the rancor that followed the band's untimely breakup. I would like to give it a full review but unfortunately this recording is on vinyl and my turntable has been down for quite some time. (An obvious indication of time and technology.) As I recall the songs are mostly uptempo rockers which demomstrate where the real kick in Defenestration's music came from. But while it can be said that Todd has a good rock voice, it also unfortunately demonstrates the lack of vocal dynamics and lyrical strangeness that gave Defenestration it's unique appeal.

The one song that clearly stood out was the last tune on side two. A Woody Guthrie inspired acoustic number, it vividly describes life in the Sooner state where wind and red dirt blows, grass grows and tractors rust in the field.
